I have worked on trees, and particularly on the bark, after our stay in Esparron. I kept this subject and exploited it through out the year (in drawing, screen printing, etching, photomontage). In fact, retrospectivly, I realise that my work turns around trees (bark, trunk ect). Maybe because, I really appreciate Penone’s work and the work of his group : Arte Povera (Mario Merz), and also Land Art (Robert Smithson, Andy Goldworthy). These movements operate in or with nature.
When I realised that an important theme in my work was nature, I understood that, inconciously, I wanted it to be part of my reflection.
I think, we have just entered in a new area, an ecological area. I’m just happy to participate in this new way of considering the world.
